About Us

'Organ Vida' photography association is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in Zagreb (Croatia) in 2010 with the objective of encouraging, developing, and promoting the artistic work in the fields of photography and multimedia, as well as applied arts and design.

Since we consider photography to be an art form well-deserving of an adequate presentation and popularization, freed from the constraints of photo-blogs and websites, we have come up with an idea for an interdisciplinary, international, multimedia project -'Organ vida'.

'Organ Vida' organizes an annual photography festival (held in May each year), a one-of-a-kind in this part of the world. Its mission is to popularize the art of photography in Croatia and help the aspiring photographers reach a professional level, to improve the working conditions of the emerging as well as established photographers, and to present their work to the general public. This is why the festival includes many different events - from presentations of portfolios and photobooks by established photographers, lectures, workshops and round-table discussions, to photography contests and exhibitions which are later presented in several towns in Croatia and its neighbouring countries.

We encourage collaboration between individuals as well as various photography associations and institutions, and we are actively working on creating a strong photographic community in Croatia as well as increasing international cultural exchange and co-operation.

Another one of our goals is to establish an independent photo gallery in Zagreb in the near future.
